About Me

Carmen was born and raised in Palo Alto, California and is currently an NYC-based actress. She was raised in a bilingual household and spent her childhood between Palo Alto and Mexico City. She graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts where she studied at the Meisner Studio and the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. She studied abroad in Berlin through NYU’s partnership with the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she participated in the “Stanislavsky, Brecht, and Beyond” Program. She received the Outstanding Achievement Award from The Meisner Studio and was recognized with Honors in Theater.

Carmen is now a member of INTAR Theater’s UNIT52 program, and made her off-Broadway debut in Todas las Mariposas Negras Mueren en el Mar at IATI Theater. On the West Coast, she’s a returning actress at Silicon Valley Shakespeare, starring in productions such as The White Snake and Measure for Measure. She appeared in Kalani Angel’s psychological thriller short, Dissonance, and Justin Wang’s action thriller, They’re Here For You, which is headed to the New York Short Film Festival in 2026.

Her dramaturgical experience ranges from sci-fi adaptations of Ted Chiang’s short stories (Anxiety is the Dizziness of Freedom, directed by Mei Ann Teo) to bilingual translations of new works (Cimientos Playwrighting Program at IATI Theater).

Carmen dreams of working closely with directors and playwrights to originate new works, and wants to be a steward of developing productions. She believes in the magic of theater and its powerful effect in advocacy and activism.
